In the spirit of transparency and not wanting potential buyers to waste their time or mine, here is a breakdown of the car...

The good:
-Crazy low miles
-runs great
-6 speed manual
-resale red
-never seen a New England winter
-like new 9/10 interior and from 10 feet away the exterior looks like a 9/10 too
-ALL ORIGINAL, stock car

As with all 20 year old car (no matter how good they look) there are always issues...here are some that I've dealt with / things that a future owner may or not want to deal with.

-the AC hasn't been charge in 4-5 years and at present isn't blowing cold
-it needs a new battery. currently, if you start it every day, you're good, but if you leave the car for 3-4 days the battery is dead, so either it's the battery or something is drawing from it.
-the emergency break hasn't worked as long as we've owned the car (19 years)
-after 20 years (as expected) some of the exterior rubber has started cracking and may eventually need to be replaced
-in the last 2 months there are areas of the clear coat, including the door handles that is starting to flake
-small scratch on hood (most noticeable if you're looking for it)
-windshield wipers; In 2018 I had a new wiper motor put in after the old motor shit the bed. They worked fine until I put a new battery in last year and they started acting up (sometimes working, sometimes not). I imagine it's a loose connection somewhere, but I haven't had time to monkey with it, nor will I
-service column lock bypass; for anyone that has owned or research C5s from this era, a service column lock era is one of the most common electronic hiccups. In the early 2000s Chevy did a recall which took care of the issue until 2018 when I got the error again. I purchased and installed the bypass and have never had a problem since, but the error still shows up in the computer (not sure how to reset that)
-horn is not working. I think I mistakenly pulled a fuse when dealing with the above 2 issues.
-needs door reskinned; in 2002 a minivan backed into the driver side door whilst parked and the insurance company only gave me a few hundred bucks for the damage caused. It wasn't enough in my mind to properly get it fixed, so I never did. From 5 feet, it's not noticeable (as is evident in the photos), but if you get close you can see the minor crack in the fiberglass.
-Finally, it really needs to be driven. In the last 4-5 years I just haven't had the time and have put on less than 1000 miles, and ever 2-3 month period that it sits it's more likely that something could go wrong. The more it's driven, the better.

As of this past November the car is no longer registered. I knew that I'd be selling the car and didn't want to waste the money.

If you're looking for a very well priced, low low mile all original car in resale red, this might be the C5 for you.

Rare 1978 Corvette 'Daytona'

This was a project that my father purchased 5 or 6 years ago. At the time it was 90-95% complete and he never had a chance to finish it before his passing.

It is one of the most unique Corvettes that you will ever see. It's a base model 25th anniversary 1978 with a custom 'Imsa Daytona' body kit (believed to be an original Eckler's or Greenwood) designed after the Greenwood Daytona Turbo which sell for hundreds of thousands of dollars.

The car took nearly 20 years to get to where it is now and was driven rarely during that time. It's been sitting for a year or two now, but was started this week. it runs fine, but may need new breaks (i'd be skiddish to take it on the road at present)

If you want a fun weekend cruiser that will get as much attention as a Batmobile and are willing to put in a little sweat equity than this is the ride for you!
